I’ve never used a backing track in all my years of music study. Until this morning, that is.

I’ve been thinking of a way to record some “Old Country” rhythms to assist in my smoothing out the timing of my pedal steel guitar runs from chord to chord and it hit me that perhaps Dr. John had recorded some Old Country-type fiddle tunes that I could play PSG along with, and voila! It hit me…hit the “Jam Tracks” drop down menu and see what’s there.

He’s done several tunes that I find are very helpful. And from there, I’ve found a bunch of them (Old Country backing) on YouTube. This has been a wonderful discovery to help me with things to play along with.

Thanks, John, for all you do for us here on the BGD site!
