Thanks for sharing your trip into the past with us, John.  And thanks to Jennifer for those great photographs that brought back so many happy memories of my younger days.  Yes siree!! THAT is the place and time to be.

I see my old friend Eustace Conway wittling in picture #32.  It is amazing how the old rustic wooden buildings of Hart Square are respected as treasures, while Eustace is being railroaded and demonized by the county because of his old wooden buildings and his way of life on Turtle Island.  Seems the property developers want Turtle Island p-r-e-t-t-y bad, and will stop at nothing to get it!   Eustace is a legend!!!!

You’re right, Eustice is a bit of a legend around here. 🙂 He went through quite an ordeal a few years ago. Seems the rough-hewn lumber he milled from trees harvested on his property wasn’t “grade stamped” by the hardware store. Sheesh. I’m so sick of red tape.

We can all put an end to the red tape and the corruption and greed and the tyrants and the dictators by getting rid of government altogether — at both the local AND federal level, and living like FREE citizens of Planet Earth.  No one will ever be free (sorry to spoil your fantasy, folks) and there will never be peace as long as there is government.  It is only FREE men who make up a FREE and peaceful society.

Could not of said that better Great Scott, all governments must be destroyed for world peace to reign. Red tape in an expression ? We don’t use that one in Quebec , but from what John sais, I think I get it.

John – I set up way past my bedtime last night, I just couldn’t stop watching. My imagination went on after I went to bed. What a wonderful place, I can see myself living back in those times! I have some of those old tools and still use them, Old cordless drills you have to turn like an egg beater and the draw knife, Loved it!
    Thanks for sharing! 🙂

What a wonderfully interesting place! The pictures show how inventive people were. I like the raft. It was also great to see your whole family playing music and your little girl in pink boots!

It was a really cool step back in time. I wish Dr. Hart would do this for an entire weekend, or at least several times a year. It was a very magical place. Rock, they had a lot of cordless screwdrivers there. 🙂 I can’t wait to go back!

I thought it was really a cool place. I heard him say they raised money for the building moves and reconstruction, I wish he would be open more often. I would make the trip!

Rock, you would have had a blast. Hey, I still have my eyes open for old tools for you. It’s been a while since I have seen old planes and hand-screws like that!
