Hello and welcome to BGD! I have a dead man’s version of “Bonaparte’s Retreat” coming up very soon, and I’ll try to teach this one at the same time.

Welcome aboard, GB!  Hope you have fun fiddling.  I’ve messed around with Midnight on the Water here and there.  I love the sound of DDAD, Dead Man’s tuning, but I usually end up in ADAD because my low string sounds floppy and pitchy that low.  I love hearing it when it sounds good…I can’t seem to ever get it sounding good for me.  Midnight on the Water sounds pretty good in ADAD tuning too, just saying, in case your fiddle sounds as weird as mine in DDAD…lol.  Maybe you’ll have better luck with it than I have.  Happy Fiddling!
