Lesson Requests.  I hear Snow Deer in Mt. View, simple tune, would like to learn it.  Also my favorite fiddle tune is Bill Monroe’s Old Dangerfield.  It must be more advanced as I can’t find many that play it.  J C  Broughton did the best recording of it on a CD.

I have a friend who plays Snow Deer in the key of F, although I learned it in G. Some do it in D. I guess it’s a matter of preference.

I fiddle Old Dangerfield in A which is about where everyone plays that one. That’s a neat tune. It goes quite long when several musicians taking a break play it all the way through each time. It’s a clever tune and I fell in love with it when I first heard it.

I was unable to find JCB on youtube. Perhaps I didn’t search well enough.
