Once you have a Mandolin Tef file loaded, it it rather easy to convert it to a Fiddle tab similar to what John uses in his lessons. Here are the steps:

    1. Click on the instrument name in the upper right of the screen. It will normally be something like “Guitar Standard”, “Mandolin”, etc. This will open a small window with the instrument name in the title bar.

    1. Select the “Module” tab.

    • Enter “Fiddle” in the “Instrument Name” text box.
    • At the bottom of the window, click the MIDI instrument drop-down, and scroll down to either “Violin” or “Fiddle”. Make sure Fiddle starts with a capital “F”
    • Click the “Apply” button

    3. Select the “Tuning” tab.

    • Click the drop-down at the top of the window and select “Mandolin GDAE”
    • Click the “Apply” button, then close the window.

You should now see the tablature converted to Fiddle tablature notation. If you click the “Play” button, it will sound similar to a fiddle.

Thanks Larry for this great information.  I am sure it will be of benefit to the members here who already have TabEdit.
