Cotton Ginning Days
The cotton gin is working and the tractors are running and the music is playing and the children are going around and around and around and around...
Fair rides make my stomach flip... And my children know it... And they insist that I watch them... I would rather climb onto a two-horsepower motorized tricycle with a man in overalls than get on one of those things.
Do you remember the wonderful freedom of really playing in the dirt, getting covered from head to toe, feeling the delicious griminess between your fingers?
Cotton Ginning Days isn't just old tractors and an operational historic cotton gin. It is homemade ice cream, deep fried Oreos, funnel cakes, rib eye sandwiches, deep fried pies, kettle corn, Philly steak and cheese, deep fried potatoes, cotton candy, big cups of lemonade and then off to the fair rides. Anyone care to join me?
On a diet? Don't worry, you can kill the old appetite by heading over to the rickety old county fair section. Arwen, Lorien and their cousins rode all the rides until they were pale. Oh, the glories of youth and tough stomachs!
