Doc and Rosa Lee Watson MusicFest ‘N Sugar Grove

No one can deny the mark that Doc Watson left on the music world.  Although he was the recipient of the National Medal of Arts, a National Heritage Fellowship, and eight Grammy Awards, you would never meet a more humble person.  He personified the heritage of our Blue Ridge Mountains.  While on stage, he had that rare talent for making you feel like you were on his front porch, visiting, instead of sitting in an audience with thousands of others.  Doc Watson and his lovely wife, Rosa Lee, lived not too far from us and his influence in our community can hardly be overstated.

This weekend, I will be performing at the MusicFest 'N Sugar Grove - a festival that has always sought to honor the music of Doc Watson and the legacy of music that he left to us.  This is a wonderful festival, one of our favorites of the year!  Great music, great size, great location.
