Smoky Mountain Memories

Intro

Smokey Mountain memories about my home in Tennessee.
Yesterday keeps calling me; calling me home.
Mountains rising in my soul higher than the dreams I've known.
Empty eyes they cling to me; my Smokey Mountain memories.

An old gray man with a dog asleep at his feet
Plays a worn out fiddle full of melodies.
He smiles with his eyes but the lines on his face
Told me as much as the tunes he played.

Talking bout Smokey mountain memories pretty girl in Tennessee
I was such a fool to leave leave her all alone
Think about her in my dreams I wonder if she thinks of me
I always hold her close to me in my Smokey Mountain memories

Intro

So mister play your fiddle please. Play some mountain memories.
I've been down a lonely road so far from home.
Nothing left to hold onto. I made some plans but they fell through.
Now there's nothing left for me but my Smokey Mountain memories.

Fiddle Break or repeat first verse

Thanks John this shouldn’t take long to learn . Also using the capo on the third fret I can still play  the D  chord progression and be in F . I noticed you also played it slow in G but no tabs or notation for G

I’ll put up some G tabs! I’m not completely happy with the performance video so I may do that one over. I’ll hopefully have the Old Spinning Wheel up by Wednesday. 🙂

Haha…Steve…you’ve been stung by the fiddle bug!  So much on your plate that you and John cooked up for yourself…that’s good…I do think the world needs more down home music. I can’t wait to see what you produce with your new setup.  No pressure…just when you’re ready.  I think with your great singing voice and guitar playing, some fiddle licks here and there too will be awesome.  Plenty to do…have fun!

LOL 🙂  This week I am keeping a 3-month old and a six-year old for a friend, a 14-year old exchange student from Germany, and two friends from Tennessee, so I’m not too bored myself!

I’ll be uploading Old Spinning Wheel tonight, and then Beer Barrel Polka this weekend. What great songs! I’ve had a blast working on them.

I am glad John that I brought you some fun even pros need new material to play with . What do you think about Battle Hymn or the republic as a violin solo ?

Battle Hymn is a good one. I do that one with my band as part of our patriotic set around July 4th each year.
