A Journey of a Thousand Miles…
...must begin with a single Highlander packed with five tightly squished people, a trunk full of instruments, a computer loaded with VeggieTales and lots of unhealthy snacks.
We actually did put over a thousand miles on our car this past weekend and, surprisingly enough, we survived and had a lot of fun. Here are photos from our kilomile weekend including the IBMA Bluegrass Ramble, Todd General Store, the Bascom Lamar Lunsford Festival and Church in the Park (Garner, NC).
We videoed Arwen and Lorien (The Butterpats) and two of their good friends from Fiddle Camp, playing at the Bascom Lamar Lunsford Festival. It was so cold - in the upper 40s - and our hands were almost too frozen to play. We were so proud of these girls for playing so well, despite the cold. They stuffed their pockets with HotHands just before going on stage - hey, you do what you have to do...
This festival really tries to emphasize youth talent and they had a great line-up of young folks making music and clogging.
