Rock Springs Camp Meeting

Camp Meeting - a walk around the loop, ice cream, fans waving (I mean the kind that you hold in your hand - donated the by local funeral home - this is such a southern thing), sticky children, humid weather, really good bluegrass gospel music.  This was Rock Springs Camp Meeting, a two hundred year old Methodist gathering set for the end of summer harvest when the circuit riding preacher would come through the area.  Everyone in the community would take two weeks in rest and thankfulness.  What a tradition!
