Our Weekend
Our weekend was so much fun! MusicFest 'n Sugar Grove and a concert in the gazebo at Fred's Mercantile, Beech Mountain, NC.
John taught a fiddle workshop with Bob Kogut and David Blackmon with the accompaniment of Becca Eggers-Gryder, Bill Helms and Bobby Martin. We enjoyed hearing Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver again, along with The Snyder Family and many other great groups. MusicFest 'n Sugar Grove is a smaller festival but that adds to the appeal - it has a much more intimate feel to it and it is one of our favorites.
Fred's General Mercantile on Beech Mountain hosts a concert series every summer - Sunday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. We never know what the weather will be like as Beech Mountain is the highest town in the eastern United States - sometimes it is SO cold or rainy or the fog so thick we can't see the people on the front row! This time it was perfect - cool and breezy and lots of good friends.
