Spirit Fiddle Interview
Over the Labor Day weekend, we made our annual trip to Lake Junaluska for the Smoky Mountain Folk Festival. This is one of the highlights of our summer. Here is that post if you missed it. We always look forward to seeing and hearing our great friends Robin Warren and Brian Clancey, also known as Spirit Fiddle. They have been a real inspiration to our family through the years. Robin was the very first to win three Fiddler of the Festival titles at Fiddler's Grove and for this she was granted the title Master Fiddler. Robin is very instrumental in continuing the great tradition of Fiddler's Grove and we deeply appreciate her hard work. Brian is one of the best guitar accompanist you'll ever hear. Although he can pick with the best of them, he prefers to provide consummate backup while allowing Robin's fiddling to shine. He is a terrific musician, and you'll never meet a nicer gentleman.
While we were all at the lake together, I sat down to interview Robin and Brian. We had such a great time together and they were so natural and at ease. So natural, in fact, that at one point some tourists stopped to ask if we would take their picture by the lake. While the camera was rolling. I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Spirit Fiddle has just released their newest album, "Tribute," dedicated to the memory of their parents. I would highly recommend any of their recordings (sample their music here) - they get a lot of play in our home! Please visit their web site and learn more about this timeless duo.
